Flame Emperor is a for-profit, SFW physical zine that will feature Sabo in One Piece canonverse, depicted solo or interacting with various One Piece characters.There is also an add-on SFW digital side zine dedicated to Sabo's romantic relationships in canonverse, canon-divergence, and alternate universes, including its separated NSFW counterpart.

Will this be a physical or digital zine?
The main zine will be both physical and digital.

What is a side zine?
It is a zine separated from the main zine and will only be available in digital pdf for this project. The side zines will be offered as add-ons and contributors are free to create as many contents as they like for the side zines as there will be no limited number of pages required.

Will spoilers be allowed?
Yes, spoilers are allowed including the latest manga chapters.

Is there a romantic ship that is not allowed in the side zine?
Ships that feature Sabo's parents, Dadan and Makino (as they are mother figures to Sabo), underage characters, and child-like bodies are strictly prohibited. All other ships are welcome in this zine. We will not engage in ship discourse and we will not tolerate harassment.

Will younger Sabo also be featured?
Yes, the main zine will revolve around Sabo and his interaction with other One Piece characters from when he was young to his current age.

Who can apply as mods / contributors?
All mods and contributors must be 18 years old or older before the end of application as this is a for-profit zine which will require a contributor to have a Paypal account. Anyone with no previous zine experience is also encouraged to apply.

Can I apply for multiple positions?
Yes. However, you will only be accepted for a maximum of two positions.

How will contributors be compensated?
We aim to provide all contributors with a full physical bundle and free shipping.
In the event that this zine is unable to reach a breakeven in sales, all contributors will receive an option to purchase the physical zine and merch at production cost. Full digital bundle is guaranteed regardless of sale outcome. Leftover profits will be divided equally among mods and contributors after leftover sales ended.

Can I share my work on social media?
Contributors retain full rights to the pieces they create so they can share their work as they wish. We only ask that you do so after preorders and leftover sales are over (this includes work-in-progresses).

Applicants must be 18 years old or older by the time applications close (October 13th, 11:59 PM EST).•
A Discord account is required to participate as all discussions, creative processes, and updates will be carried out via our Discord server.•
Deadlines and server rules must be adhered, and applicants must communicate with the mod team in case of real life issues or other inconveniences arise.•
Applicants must create NEW and ORIGINAL pieces for the zine. Tracing, stealing, plagiarism, and the use of AI programmes are NOT allowed. If any contributors are found to violate this rule, they will be removed and banned from the project.•
Applicants may apply to multiple positions but will only be accepted to a maximum of two roles.•
Previous zine experience is not required.•
Please make sure that the links provided in your application form work and can be accessed.
Page Artist Guidelines
REQUIREMENTS

Your work will be evaluated based on your well understanding of anatomy, perspective, composition, color theory, and background.•
A portfolio with more pieces is encouraged for the mod team to evaluate your work if the samples provided are deemed not sufficient enough.•
Portfolios can be in the form of Google Drive, carrd, Tumblr, Instagram, personal art website or official art site (e.g. ArtStation, DeviantArt, etc.). Twitter/X will NOT be considered as it is difficult to navigate for necessary contents.•
Sabo and One Piece samples are not required but highly recommended.•
All samples must be fully rendered. Unfinished work or work-in-progresses will NOT be accepted.•
At least 1 of the samples provided must include a background.•
If you wish to create content for the NSFW side zine, at least 1 of your samples must be NSFW.•
Samples that contain trigger warnings (e.g. NSFW) must be tagged accordingly.•
All samples must be publicly available. If Google Drive is used, please ensure that "anyone with the link can view" setting is enabled. We will not be requesting access for any private samples or portfolios.•
Traditional art is accepted, so long as the uploaded file is of clear and publishable quality.

Page/spread artists will be required to create 1 piece for the main zine.•
Comic artists will be required to create 1 comic of 2 - 4 pages long.•
Cover artists will be required to create 1 cover spread and will be working closely with the art mods.•
Spot artists will be required to create 2 spot art for 1 fanfiction (max. 2 fanfictions) and will collaborate with the author of the fanfiction.•

Only samples in English are accepted.•
Your work will be evaluated based on story flow, spelling, punctuation, grammar, paragraph formatting, consistent tenses & point of view, and word usage.•
A portfolio with more pieces is encouraged for the mod team to evaluate your work if the samples provided are deemed not sufficient enough.•
Portfolios can be in the form of Google Drive, Archive of Our Own (AO3), carrd, Tumblr, personal website or other fanfiction/archive/writing sites. Twitter/X will NOT be considered as it is difficult to navigate for necessary contents.•
Sabo and One Piece samples are not required but highly recommended.•
If you wish to create content for the NSFW side zine, at least 1 of your samples must be NSFW.•
Samples that contain trigger warnings (e.g. NSFW) must be tagged accordingly.•
Do not paste samples directly into the Google form question. All samples must be hosted externally (Google Docs, AO3, etc.) and submitted in link format.•
Images/screenshots of fics will NOT be accepted.•
All samples must be publicly available. If Google Drive is used, please ensure that "anyone with the link can view" setting is enabled. We will not be requesting access for any private samples or portfolios.
EXPECTATIONS

Writers will be required to write a fanfiction of a maximum 2.5k words in English. The piece must be third person with Sabo as the center of the piece.•
Poetry is permitted. First person poetry is permitted, as long as it is in Sabo's perspective.•
Each writer will be collaborating with one spot artist for their fic.•
All writers have the option to create an extra piece for side zines if they are interested.
Merch Artist Guidelines

Please submit 3 - 5 clear quality photos of Sabo cosplay. Both canon and AU cosplays of Sabo are accepted.•
Please keep your samples SFW.
Cosplays of other One Piece characters are also allowed, although Sabo is highly recommended.•
Samples of group cosplays are accepted, so long as Sabo is at the center of the shoot. If submitting a group photo, please make sure everyone in the photo is over 18.•
A portfolio with more pieces is encouraged for the mod team to evaluate your work if the samples provided are deemed not sufficient enough.•
Portfolios can be in the form of Google Drive, carrd, Tumblr, Instagram, or other photo-sharing websites. Twitter/X will NOT be considered as it is difficult to navigate for necessary contents.•
All samples must be publicly available. If Google Drive is used, please ensure that "anyone with the link can view" setting is enabled. We will not be requesting access for any private samples or portfolios.•
Blood is allowed, no extreme gore.
EXPECTATIONS
•
Cosplayers will be required to submit at least 1 photoshoot of their Sabo cosplay for the main zine.•
All cosplay contents will be for the main zine only. Hence, photoshoots of romantic ships will not be accepted.•
A maximum of 4 shoots with different poses will be accepted.•
Your Sabo cosplay will be allowed to take a photoshoot with the cosplay of different One Piece character(s), so long as Sabo is the main focus.•
Cosplayers will also have the option to create an extra piece (art/writing) for side zines if they are interested.
